Painting

I make abstract and semi-abstract paintings in series that are often inspired by the landscape of Sussex and my native East Anglia, I paint an internalised expression of these places. The disciplines of yoga and meditation are reflected in my work by my desire for harmony, balance and uncluttered imagery.

Sizes vary depending on what I am trying to communicate. I particularly love to paint large scale works so that there is a sense of being drenched in colour, or so that the painting has a quiet imposing quality.

I have been based in Brighton since the mid 1980s, studied at the University of Brighton, and have a studio at the Phoenix Art Space, where you can visit by appointment and on open studio days.

I exhibit regularly in London, Brighton and East Anglia. My work is held in International private collections.
